End of An Era After 32 Years……..
April 6, 2016 8:44 am 2 CommentsQuayside Windsurfers, the shop you and I got to know as the only place to buy our windsurf kit was taken over this week by ourselves at Severneshop.
Many people will know Quayside Windsurfers way back when Ray Page ran it from the quayside at Norwich where his animal grain store was next to the river. It grew and finally moved back to his house when he retired where he would offer cups of coffee and homemade soup to all who went round to buy kit. But times change and after Neil bought Quayside Windsurfers the internet revolution started and the store went online.
Why the change?
90{f61be24ee1963f108502a136e2efcacf7d807c138d3e8d7bbcfb0982c2ecffb4} of what we sell is Severne kit, and it’s also what we prefer selling due to our expertise, as well as it being arguably the best performing kit in our view. So when Nikki was promoted within the Greentrees Group (Quayside and Severneshop’s parent company) it fell back to Neil to run the store – Over to him:
I knew I didn’t want to be selling all kinds of different kit as it’s Severne kit I like and know. The concept of running Severneshop only from home was suggested 9 months ago and it just seemed right. So in the next few weeks the container will be moved to my house at Etling Green and customers will call me to visit the shop from there – just like when Ray ran the show! I also felt that things had to change so we made a lot of changes to the way we sell the kit too. We now have 9 sails we can send out to customers with masts for them to try at their leisure rather than demo days. Our board pricing policy has radically changed, rewarding regular customers with unbelievable board prices just for those people – nowhere will be cheaper I guarantee! The Team QSW bus is being converted to a mobile shop so kit is there at the beach, and we will have Severneshop essentials stands at local cafe’s with the basics like lines, harness’s, uphauls, boots etc.

So as one door closes another opens – We all would like to thank everyone who was a customer of Quayside windsurfers over the years, but we now welcome you into the Severneshop Revolution.
