Tom Saunderson –
Have been searching for a while to replace my battered Mk1 2013 Fanatic Freewave 116 litre, having been unimpressed with the new Fanatic Freewave Stubby. Was a tall order, but I can confirm that this board is actually better. The 114l is incredibly quick to release compared with other similar sized freewave boards I’ve used. Compact in outline but with plenty of float under the shoulders. Outline of the planing area is beautifully tapered and turns well, with enough board under the back foot but not too much. Grippy rails and a fast flatish rocker. Volume distribution in general is the best I’ve had on any freewave board. Generous nose rocker is very welcome and banishes any fear of nose-diving when coming back in flat-out. Cannot wait to try it with the thruster set-up!
