The first is featuring Ant Baker….. the Brother of my very good friend Nik Baker ,this marmite was in his day was, in my view, one of the very best pro sailors in the world. I went out to Maui in 2009 with him and my Wife Sara where we chilled around the beaches of the famous North Shore for 3 weeks sailing Kanaha, Specks, and even getting to see the infamous ‘Jaws’ in full anger!. Here we visited one of his friends who was a Yoga teacher. None of us had done it before and had a great laughs together that day. Ant Baker hasn’t really been on the scene for a while doing other things, but I had some great times with him and thank him for many tips he gave whilst on the Slalom Series back in the day.
The second video is one of the toughest videos I ever made. I was with Nik Baker in Mauritius and we hooked up with Gollito Estredo for a few days. this guy was absolutely on top of his game at the time and we mat up on a windy evening in a hotel as it rained heavily. Nik had given me the heads up about him saying he was a man of very few words, but nothing prepared me for the awkward interview that went to tape due to the language barriers – and what made it worse was I had Nik giggling like a bloody hyena in the background – myself and Nik then sit down to analyze the interview and talk about how things have changed for Pro sailors.
